HOW NIGERIA MAY BE IN 2045- Obasanjo reveals

Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of Nigeria has predicted what may be Nigeria’s condition by the year 2045.

Obasanjo said the country’s growing population will either be beneficial or disastrous depending on whether the leaders will able to make the country self-sufficient in education, food, employment and housing.

He said with the available potentials in the country, Nigeria should aim to be one of the 10th largest economies in the world by the year 2024.

This He said on Monday at the Calabar Free Trade Zone in, Cross River State, while inaugurating the Skyrun ultra- modern freezer and fridge factory.

“When I was in the aircraft, Senator Liyel Imoke told me that Nigeria’s population currently stands at 193 million people. By the year 2045, Nigeria’s population will be about 400 million and we can be happy as well as, be sad.He said

“If we can provide food, education, employment and housing for all of them , then we shall be happy, otherwise, it will be a sad situation

Unfortunately, Nigerians are dying in the Mediterranean sea and being sold as slaves in Libya. We need political the will to overcome this situation. We must not allow the dignity of Nigerians to be so reduced in the eyes of the world .” He also said.

Scientists discover an enzyme that can Eliminate plastic wastes

Scientists have accidentally discovered a mutant enzyme that can fully eat up and decompose common plastic, and could help the world solve the problem of plastic waste. Researchers in the US and UK examined an existing enzyme which had occurred naturally in landfill sites and was able to slowly digest man-made plastics. But in the course of testing the enzyme's origins, the researchers made biological changes to it that turbo-charged its ability to digest plastics, according to Britain's University of Portsmouth . The West African Examinations Council, WAEC, has released the results of the Nov/Dec 2017 West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE which was taken by 131,485 candidates. MTN to Sell 30% of its Nigerian Company proposes $500b IPO on NSE

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Wednesday confirmed that MTN Group had finally commenced discussions with the commission on its proposed 500 million dollars Initial Public Offering (IPO). A senior management staff of SEC who pleaded anonymity told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that MTN had commenced discussion with the commission on the IPO. The source told NAN that although talks were ongoing, the company was yet to formally file its application for the IPO. He said the commission was committed to investors’ protection, and that their interest would be protected in the ongoing discussion. MANY DEAD IN NEW ADAMAWA BOMB BLAST

Many people are feared to have died after a bomb blast in Mubi, Adamawa state, after teenage boy detonated his explosives after morning prayers at a mosque. About 30 people are believed to have died in the resulting blast. According to the Adamawa State Police Command, the suicide attack occurred around 5:20am at Kunu Araha, a suburb in Mubi North. “We were made to understand that there was a bomb blast at a mosque in Mubi and over 30 lives were lost. A boy about 17-year-old wearing a suicide vest entered the mosque along with other worshippers. Immediately after the prayers, he detonated the bomb.
