He said that importation and exportation of fuel has a high effect on the lingering fuel crisis because the country does not produce the product locally and the refineries do not work, which makes room for little hitches in the inflow. “When you import fuel and do not produce fuel locally or the refineries do not work once in a while fuel scarcity should be expected, as long as you have those variables not under your total control you can’t rule that out. Miss Adamawa Mildred Ehiguese has emerged winner of the 2017 edition of Miss Nigeria beauty contest. She beat other 35 contestants to the crown, emerging the 41st Miss Nigeria. Ehiguese emerged as the new queen at the beauty pageant held at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos on Friday replacing the outgoing Chioma Stephanie Obiadi. Oyeleye Abiola, the best graduating medical student at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University in Ukraine, was on top of the world, as she delivered the valedictory speech for the day. Abiola who was a student of Osun State University was sponsored to the Ukrainian university by the osun state government of Governor Rauf Aregbesola, to complete her studies there. She scored 95.6 per cent to emerge the best, not just at her university, where she beat 564 other students, but also overall in the whole of  Ukraine. The announcement that her score was the best in the entire Ukraine was made at a Pre-Convocation meeting held at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University , Kharkov by the President of the university, Prof Vil S. Bakirov. Four Criminals parading themselves as operatives of the Federal S pecial Anti-Robbery Squad SARS have been gunned down in  port harcourt Rivers State. The suspects were killed by SARS on Saturday, December 16, at Ogbogoro community in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State following a distress call from an unidentified member of the public. This was as armed robbers, who operated around the Ileabuchi area of Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt City, on Saturday night, killed a policeman in the area, leaving a local vigilante member and other persons with bullet wounds. It was learnt that the vigilante member and the other persons, who were hit by bullets, had been hospitalised. A source told PUNCH that the criminals were spotted to be fake security operatives by residents of the area. It was gathered that a resident of the area called Ozuoba Police Station. The source said when SARS operatives entered the community, the fake SARS men engaged them in a gun duel.

The Federal High Court in Apo, FCT Abuja, has ordered that 86 luxury vehicles, together with four houses and a quarry plant in Abuja, belonging to a civil servant, Mr. Ibrahim Tumsah, be temporarily forfeited to the Federal Government.
