Arsenal Legend Thierry Henry Arrives Lagos,Received by large crowd(Photos)


Arsenal FC legend, Thierry Henry landed in Lagos, Yesterday December 17 on Sunday for the Guinness Made of Black programme and he was received by a massive crowd of personal and Arsenal fans. Most of them on Arsenal Jersey excited to see the hero. It was a great site to see the taking pictures and exchanging love
The 40-year-old Frenchman is presently in the country to meet winners of the ‘Be a Front Row Fan’ consumer promotion of the company.
The international football icon will equally join the winners to watch the West Brom v Manchester United EPL game at Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The Arsenal legend was received by a large crowd at Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos upon arrival yesterday.

MANY DEAD IN NEW ADAMAWA BOMB BLAST

Many people are feared to have died after a bomb blast in Mubi, Adamawa state, after teenage boy detonated his explosives after morning prayers at a mosque. About 30 people are believed to have died in the resulting blast. OSINBAJO DECRIES HUGE EXODUS OF DOCTORS FROM NIGERIA

The  Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, on Monday decried the way Nigerian doctors are leaving the country in droves saying the government now has an opportunity to bring back the doctors. Mr. Osinbajo, who spoke at the 60th-anniversary celebration of the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, said that the dismal levels of job satisfaction caused by poor healthcare system in Nigeria were responsible for the “alarming” brain drain in the country’s health sector. The vice president’s remarks comes a few days after the Chairman, Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Lagos State branch, Olumuyiwa Odusote, lamented the exodus of doctors from Nigeria. The Punch newspaper quoted Mr. Odusote as saying, “The health crisis in Nigeria is unprecedented as the mass exodus hits an alarming proportion. “Already, it takes a new patient two to three hours to see a doctor. Nigeria Becomes 7th Largest country in the World

With a population of 198 million, Nigeria is now the 7 th  most populous nation on earth and the largest in Africa. Rivers State government reiterates committment to the health insurance scheme

Rivers State Government on Wednesday said that it was committed to implementing the Health Insurance Scheme. The Commissioner for Health, Prof. Princewill Chike gave the assurance in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt. Chike said that the government was already building five zonal hospitals as part of the preparations for the project take-off. According to him, the Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital (BSMH) is also being upgraded to meet the requirements for the scheme. The commissioner said that the government’s intention for the scheme was to make healthcare affordable and accessible to the ordinary people. MTN to Sell 30% of its Nigerian Company proposes $500b IPO on NSE

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Wednesday confirmed that MTN Group had finally commenced discussions with the commission on its proposed 500 million dollars Initial Public Offering (IPO). A senior management staff of SEC who pleaded anonymity told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that MTN had commenced discussion with the commission on the IPO. The source told NAN that although talks were ongoing, the company was yet to formally file its application for the IPO. He said the commission was committed to investors’ protection, and that their interest would be protected in the ongoing discussion. The source said SEC would remain committed to the development of the nation’s capital market and listing of more multinationals.
