Rivers State government reiterates committment to the health insurance scheme

Rivers State Government on Wednesday said that it was committed to implementing the Health Insurance Scheme. The Commissioner for Health, Prof. Princewill Chike gave the assurance in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt. Chike said that the government was already building five zonal hospitals as part of the preparations for the project take-off. According to him, the Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital (BSMH) is also being upgraded to meet the requirements for the scheme. The commissioner said that the government’s intention for the scheme was to make healthcare affordable and accessible to the ordinary people. NOV/DEC WAEC RESULTS RELEASED

The West African Examinations Council, WAEC, has released the results of the Nov/Dec 2017 West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE which was  taken by 131,485 candidates. Candidates are advised to check the details of their performance on the council’s website:  www . waecdirect . org .  The results were released in Katsina State during the 55th Annual Meeting of the Nigeria National Committee, NNC. Olu Adenipekun, the Nigeria National Officer, NNO, of WAEC, while announcing the release of the Nov/Dec 2017 WASSCE, said only 34,664, representing 26.01% obtained credit passes in five subjects including English Language and General Mathematics. NIGERIAN BECOMES BEST GRADUATING MEDICAL STUDENT IN UKRAINE

Oyeleye Abiola, the best graduating medical student at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University in Ukraine, was on top of the world, as she delivered the valedictory speech for the day. Abiola who was a student of Osun State University was sponsored to the Ukrainian university by the osun state government of Governor Rauf Aregbesola, to complete her studies there.
